Reverse interview with the artist

.

DBE: Art documents the political, social and intellectual evolution of society. How do you contribute to this evolution?

You: ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

DBE: Artists, through their work, can be shallow, subversive, challenging, emotional and/or autobiographical. Can you embrace and express your true self in your profession?

You: ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

DBE: How do you feel about Shreveport’s art/music/theater/film industry? Do you have a fact-based opinion about it?

You: ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

DBE: Look around yourself right now. What do you observe about the art, advertising, architecture, music and food? Does this evoke any feelings or thoughts?

You: ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

DBE: Do you perceive artists as peculiar, crazy, bad influences or poor role models? Or do you see them as gifted, valuable, important members of society? Why?

You: ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

DBE: Do you own a piece of local and/or original art? Did you know the artist? How did you feel when you first experienced meaningful art?

You: ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

DBE: The “public arts scene” in Shreveport has been trivialized & reduced to overt sexualization during the last several years. Does it bother you that your tax dollars are being spent on arts events that are largely centered around objectification, rather than quality Louisiana-produced art & artists?
